I slipped on my walking shoes and made my way down the street from my home. I meandered into the unexpected warmth of a February evening, while heading to my favorite woods. Winter white had slowly melted into puddles of gray. Along the way, I noticed the colorless trees. As I rounded the corner, the sun began to drift slowly into the horizon. While it lowered, a splash of color painted the sky. First a burst of oranges and yellows, then streaks of indigo and royal blue. Finally, a deep and luscious pink. A momentary fusion of yin and yang, light and dark, silhouettes amidst the sunlit sky. All there for me during one perfectly timed breath of fresh air.
