A Different Kind of Meditation

When I woke up Saturday morning, my daughter was ready. It’s not usual that she wants to go for an early walk, so I got dressed even before my morning meditation, and we headed out. The cold snow kissed our noses, and the ground was soon covered in a blanket of winter. We looked up and watched the snowflakes shoot from the sky, like a magic bubble-making machine. It tickled our lashes to keep our eyes open for so long. I marveled at how many snowflakes it takes to cover the entire earth. Being outside was a gift today, a different kind of meditation. It was a reminder to breathe and enjoy the tiniest beauties of the world. I think my daughter’s unexpected invitation was timed perfectly… a wonder-full way to start the day.
