A Single Sunflower

“I believe there is something of the divine mystery in everything that exists. We can see it sparkle in a sunflower…”

Jostein Gaarder

This past Saturday morning, I went to the Farmer’s Market on my own. Going by myself meant I could either go through really fast and get what I came to buy, or I could take my time. So I meandered. I stopped to get my favorite brownies from Lydia and chat for awhile. At each booth, I noticed nearly everyone carrying beautiful bouquets of sunflowers. Soon, I made my way to the booth where these beauties were being sold. I almost bought a whole bright bouquet but instead purchased only one vibrant sunflower. It was symbolic. On this day, as I walked the market on my own, one was enough.
