Frozen in Time

These wonderful winter days offer an array of experiences. On this day, my daughter and I woke up to greet the freshly fallen snow and freezing temperatures with a walk outside. When we approached this pond behind our home, we marveled at the geese sitting on the ice. They were huddled together, before they began to disperse immediately. We hadn’t planned on disturbing them, but they sensed us from far away. That is their nature. And it is our nature to be curious. I give thanks for meditative moments like this where we breathe in the fresh winter air and then watch as our breath turns to smoky white on the exhale. Noticing life’s little moments makes me feel so alive with wonder.
