The Magic of Letting Go

“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Life is truly magical to me. There is no other way for me to express the relationship I have with life each day. Some may think that means that I see the world through rose-colored glasses or that I don’t experience the gamut of challenges and emotions everyone else does. Of course I do. However, it’s all in how I look at the things I experience that often makes life magical.

Just three days ago, I went shopping with my husband. He went into the store while I decided to go into a bookshop. I entered with the intention of getting a book for my husband, but it wasn’t available. I let it go. Then, I turned my search toward another book.

I read The Alchemist a couple summers ago when someone I never met generously offered me a copy. Now that story is something straight out of the book itself. After reading it, I returned the book to the giver and bought a special edition copy for my son’s eighteenth birthday. I told my son often how he might like to see the video interview with Will Smith. The actor explained how The Alchemist changed his life over a decade ago.

The Alchemy of Perfect Timing…

Although it took my son until this summer to sit down and read the book, we both know it was perfectly timed. He told me it was one of the best books he’d ever read. The more he shared, the more I knew I wanted to read it again. I finally found a copy at the bookstore and brought it home.

Two days later I was on my social media page when I saw a post that the book, The Alchemist, was finally going to be a movie! Interestingly, the film involves none-other than Will Smith, and he narrated the teaser for it. Another interesting connection happened. The person who posted the link is the very same author who wrote the foreword for my own Love Letters book. I noted the synchronicity and found yet another magical connection.

When I looked at the date the teaser came out, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was the very same day I was compelled to buy my own copy of the book. I had no idea these things were coming together…not in this realm. However, I received an invitation, which I readily accepted.

Alchemy is a seemingly magical process of transformation or creation.

How can something literally appear or even change before your eyes and become something else? It’s all in how you choose to see it and then receive it.

I believe the book, which was shared and given so lovingly, made its way back to me so I could again experience the powerful energy of transformation. I am, after all, in a new season of my life, contemplating change. Moreover, I already see myself in these new moments of my life, and I’ve already accepted the changes.

I’ve also discovered that alchemy is the gift of going with the flow, allowing oneself to become that other something you imagine. I am an alchemist, and I am always believing that everything serves a purpose and that every little thing is powerfully connected.

Just believing is the beginning of welcoming all the gifts the universe has to offer. It’s the beginning of becoming all you dreamed yourself to be.

Make it MAGICAL

Invitation: As you move through your day, pause and notice how the things you imagine show up in unexpected ways. Often, the things we imagine don’t show up exactly as imagined but almost always in more perfect ways than we could have ever envisioned. The only reason we miss seeing them is because we aren’t allowing them to show up exactly as they need to do. Keeping a journal is a great way to reflect and begin to see that the universe has your back… and your front… and all sides of your life- if you let it!

Love Note for Your Soul: Everything I imagine is already available to me. I just need to let it show up.

with love and the magic of belief,

Rosa
